Young Indian Shuttler Palak Kohli has expressed her desire to win the gold medal in the Paris Paralympics. She also said that the disappointment in the Tokyo Olympics has increased her hunger to do more and win the gold medal when she plays in the Paralympics next.
The Indian shuttler who was the youngest ever to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics at 18 years old qualified to participate in all three formats of the game, Singles, Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. In the doubles, she paired up with Parul Parmar while in the Mixed Doubles category, she played with Gold Medalist Pramod Bhagat.

Palak Kohli on Paralympics
In a recent interview, Palak Kohli talked about her experience at the Tokyo Olympics. She said being the youngest out there was a good exposure for her and she even learned many things.
Playing in Tokyo was a wonderful experience. There is no age criteria in para badminton. So being the youngest to qualify for three events was a blessing as I got exposure to all three events” said Kohli.
Unfortunately, Kohli’s left arm is underdeveloped ever since her birth. She further added that the loss had made her hungry to perform more at the upcoming events and to make the country proud.
There was lot of disappointment after losing the mixed bronze at Tokyo after coming so close but it has also made me lot hungrier and I am living for that one aim, one goal for Paris. I don’t want to settle for anything lesser than gold. Kohli further added.
She is currently playing in the Spanish Open. She has been awarded the second seed at the tournament. She came back from a bone marrow that she suffered way back in 2019.
This year I am looking to play in various events. Spanish Open is an important event where I want to do well. But World Championship and the Asian Games are the main events that I’m looking forward to this year. My long term goal remains the 2024, 2028, and 2032 Olympics” Kohli concluded.
We hope that Palak Kohli should touch the sky with glory. At such a young age, she has conqured so much and still has a lot more to achieve.
