Italian Legend and AC Milan Icon Paolo Maldini have named the top three players that he has seen playing. The former AC Milan player named Lionel Messi, Diego Maradona and Ronaldo Nazario in his top three list. But a thing to mention is that he snubbed Cristiano Ronaldo from his list.

Paolo Maldini has always been regarded as one of the best defenders to ever step on the field in Italian as well as world football. At just the age of 17, the Italian defender took the first team by storm and became their top holding man.

His glorious football career spanned almost 25 years. The Italian defender was a crucial part of AC Milan in their peak era. They ruled the whole of Europe when Paolo Maldini was the serving captain of the Rossoneri.

The Italian Legend made the statement in an upcoming documentary made on Brazilian icon Ronaldo Nazario titled as ‘The Phenomenon’. He spent a year and a half playing alongside the legendary Brazilian forward at the Rossoneri.

Moreover, Paolo has also played against Nazario a number of times especially when the Brazilian was at Inter for five years.

The five-time UEFA Champions League winner said “The three greatest players I saw during my career were Messi, Maradona and him [Ronaldo Nazario].”

Ronaldo Nazario has always been regarded as one of the most fearsome attackers in his era. O Fenômeno scored 295 goals at the club level and netted 62 times in 99 matches for his national team.

On the other side, Paolo Maldini also took the names of Argentine icons Lionel Messi and Diego Maradona. Diego Maradona’s excellence is utterly Unmatchable when it comes to playing football. He was also one of the two joint winners of the FIFA Player of the 20th Century award. He also helped Argentina win the 1986 World Cup.

While Lionel Messi is a modern-day icon. He led his nation to the 2014 World Cup where they lost against Germany. But he’ll also be regarded as great.
