At a point, we all can say that it was a not so good IPL season for Mumbai Indians. It was a season that they’ll probably try to forget. Most of the big names in the team didn’t play as they were expected and one of the names is Kieron Pollard. At many times, we saw the player struggling to get the ball on the bat. We are familiar with the hard-hitting skills of Kieron Pollard but it wasn’t something that we are habitual seeing.

In the 15th season of the Indian Premier League, the former West Indies captain scored 144 runs while his highest score across all the 11 matches that he played was 25 only. With the ball, he took 4 wickets with an economy of 8.93.

Kieron Pollard tweeted “Hope the fan base and followers increased @cricketaakash… keep it flowing .. #t20.!!” and later on he deleted the tweet.

What’s the story with Pollard’s tweet?

Aakash Chopra is a good commentator and he’s known by almost everyone who watches cricket in India. Consequently, the tweet that was made by the West Indies International seems to be a slightly raging reply to the criticism done by Chopra.

Aakash Chopra held Kieron Pollard with criticism as well as censure at several junctures across the season. He pointed out that the 2022 season seems to be the West Indies player’s last one. He also said that the amount given to him was much higher and Mumbai Indians should release him as well as Tymal Mills and Murugan Ashwin too. Chopra said all of this in a youtube video.

The words of Chopra

The Indian commenter also pointed out how many chances will the former West Indies captain will keep getting from the side of Mumbai Indians.
In his other statement, he concluded that Dewald Brevis should be the replacement of Kieron Pollard. The exact words of the ex-Indian cricketer were “I think we have seen the last of Kieron Pollard. INR 6 crores will be released if they don’t retain him. Kieron Pollard should go and Dewald Brevis should come in. How many chances would you give to Pollard? He has just not been scoring runs.”
